I began my photography journey in the film era—when every click mattered.
Back then, there was no preview, no second chance. You had to be present, patient, and intentional. That early discipline taught me to focus more on the art of photography, not just the gear.

Why dance photography?
Because it’s storytelling—without words.
Indian classical dance holds rhythm, emotion, and meaning in every gesture. A performance can captivate an audience, and long after the curtain falls, the story stays with you. It invites your mind to wander, to imagine, and reflect. And honestly, I’m a sucker for happy endings!
My background in photography helped me see what matters most on stage—not just the steps, but the feeling behind them. I listen to gurus, learn what they expect, and anticipate the peak moments when the story shines through. Every time I recognize a nuance unfolding live—just as it was described—I feel deeply connected to the art and the artist.
Photography is a lifelong learning experience. And capturing classical dance? That’s where I feel most alive.
